The Field Service Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the labour and resources required to complete field service projects. Client management is an essential part of the Project Manager’s responsibility, as well as managing office paperwork and office hours to keep project requirements on track. This position is best suited for a Field Service Supervisor with experience in High Voltage power systems and demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Training is a core aspect of REV and ongoing technical training courses would typically include:

 

  • ACSA Leader of Safety Excellence
  • ACSA Supervisor Training
  • ACSA Drug & Alcohol Training
  • Supervisor Training

 

POSITION DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties of the Field Service Project Manager position will consist of continued involvement in Field Service projects and will include an introduction to and experience in the following additional areas:

 

  • Managing client maintenance and business development; overseeing all aspects of the job including quotation, contract review and invoicing
  • Managing project job costing and overall quality
  • Developing project instructions and ensuring that properly trained field personnel are utilized to ensure that work is completed to both REV’s standards and to the client’s satisfaction. Also ensuring conformance to the scope of work
  • Maintaining current project schedules / requirements while ensuring other client requests are satisfied
  • Approving project designs, and requisitioning of job materials for project requirements
  • Reviewing and approving test sheets and preparation of technical client reports and quotations or assigning field personnel to complete, and ensuring completion meets client / project requirements and schedules
  • Providing leadership and motivation to field service personnel in technical training, company safety, and in keeping junior field staff productive 
  • Providing input to employee reviews on a professional and technical level
  • Working with the Field Service Supervisors and the Field Services Manager to effectively schedule manpower / equipment utilization
  • Attending mandatory weekly Project Manager meetings with the Field Services Manager and other Project Managers
  • Maintaining and ensuring proper use and assignment of REV’s equipment, vehicles, property, and assets
  • Selling the services of REV and completing on site business development to clients; providing client maintenance both on technical and social level and mentoring REV’s Supervisors and Junior staff to do the same
  • Representing REV in a positive and professional manner to all clients and REV personnel
  • Submit weekly timesheets
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by management to ensure REV’s goals and objectives are met
  • Performs all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in REV’s Safety and Human Resources Policy Manual
  • Performs duties according to REV’s quality system procedures and work instructions

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Power System Electrician Diploma, Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma or Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited Canadian institution
  • Previous experience as Field Service Supervisor is considered an asset
  • Professional qualities in attitude, appearance and the ability to self-manage with proven initiative and client focus
  • Strong leadership, organizational and time management capabilities
  • Team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Company focused attitude and performance
  • Ability to make decisions quickly on available information, exercising proper judgement of the issues and taking action; keeping commitments and dealing with emergencies as necessary
  • Be an effective change agent in driving a positive work culture
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in a positive and constructive manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport in the relationship
  • Ability to manage priorities and multi-task while meeting deadlines 
  • Ability to deliver and act in a consistent and trustworthy manner

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Available for intermittent travel of short duration
  • Experience working in variable weather conditions
  • Flexibility to work 24/7 emergency hours
  • On the job training will include the following every 2-3 years: First Aid, WHIMIS, H2S Alive, CSTS, Fall Arrest, Confined Space, Basic Electrical Safety, Arc Flash Awareness
