Datacenters

Medicine Hat

Many company’s are often very well equipped when it comes to the computer and IT side of things, however this particular datacenter project needed a little expertise on the electrical side. Luckily, REV knows a thing or two about electrical operations.

Thousands of high-density servers were being hooked up for bitcoin mining, which was ultimately drawing a very intense amount of power. The challenge became to interconnect with the City of Medicine Hat to distribute power to 56 individual block boxes, which are the buildings that house the high-density servers.

REV took on the task of designing, engineering and building switchgear and transformer distribution skids to feed these loads.

The biggest challenge to this project was that it was to be done in such a short time limit for the massive size of a project that it was. Not only that, it was a new design being created in a new industry under new application where many had failed before.

REV was able to get it up and running in record time and met every milestone along the way. Thank you to everyone who participated in making this monumental project such a success!
