A few months ago, REV officially obtained it’s ISO 9001:2015 Certification! We are very proud of this accomplishment and were excited to share the great news with all of our customers. With this exciting news however, we realized that you might be wondering, what is this ISO certification and what exactly does it mean for our customers?
Firstly, the ISO 9001:2015 certification demonstrates a company’s commitment to quality across all aspects within the organization. Companies with this certification can benefit from a systematic approach to quality management, which means that adopting a QMS compliant with ISO 90001 helps to improve reputation, products, services and processes. This includes defect prevention and reduced supply chain variation and waste.
With SAI-Global as our certifying agent, all personnel up to this point have received training in the quality program. SAI-Global is a certifying agent used for a wide range of companies. The process for REV’s approval of the certification started with the purchase of the ISO 9001 Standard. From there we undertook the training necessary to build our teams expertise and implement these new expectations in to our culture. We contacted SAI Global to discuss all requirements and performed an optional pre-assessment and gap analysis. We were then able to undertake a stage one and stage two audit followed by the display of the 'Five Ticks' Standards Mark'. We will continue through this ongoing process to maintain and optimize our certification
Continuous Improvements to our Existing Program:
Continuous improvements have been made to our existing program and they will continue to be as our system is established. The major change was the incorporation of all business activities into a business system, as well as working together to achieve the goals established by our leadership.
Another more specific change we have seen involves showing objective evidence (records) regarding the decisions, analysis, distribution, knowledge and communications behind our business activities. We have also started using a third-party business to demonstrate that our business practices are defined, implemented, controlled and improved upon.
