Sales Manager

General Accountability

The Sales Manager is responsible for all inside and outside sales for REV. This individual is responsible for maintaining existing and developing new customer relationships, as well working alongside REV management with respect to any of the sales, profit and marketing activities of the company. This position will require strong organizational skills with a demonstrated expertise in building and developing a sales team and sales processes. A strong people person, capable of developing strong business relationships across multiple levels of our company. A strong team leader, capable of building and developing a diverse, dynamic sales organization across multiple geographical regions. Has a history that supports strong growth, with the development of new markets and new customers.  The individual will be responsible for developing sales and marketing plans that match REV’s overall business strategy. 

Specific Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

  • Develop, implement and manage all sales and business development initiatives to successfully drive REV’s business growth through the acquisition and maintenance of new and existing clients in traditional and emerging markets
  • Utilize the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools, and the sales pipeline to provide seamless information, reporting and communications between the sales organization and management
  • Develop a sales team and provide leadership mentoring to all sales representatives
  • Capable of traveling – 25% of the time
  • A “Hunter” mentality, capable of opening new doors and developing new customers
  • Assist with establishing sales channels through strategic partnerships alliances, existing and new client opportunities
  • Provide leadership to all departments with sales, estimating and business development activities
  • Develop sales strategies and process to support REVs growth and cooperation with other internal departments
  • Demonstrate a commitment to all facets of the role identifying new opportunities and initiatives that successfully support in the achievement of company goals and objectives
  • Coach, mentor, and train Sales team
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by senior manager to ensure REV’s goals and objectives are met
  • Performs all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in REV’s Safety and Human Resources Policy Manual
  • Performs duties according to REV’s quality system procedures and work instructions
  • Assist in developing REV’s product portfolio utilizing markets trends and customer feedback. This will be accomplished through market partners or internal product development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in similar Sales Management roles within the Commercial, Industrial, Oil & Gas and Utility electrical industries 
  • Technical knowledge in the electrical industry and previous experience leading a growth-oriented sales organization, supporting electrical contractor, consultant and large end user industry’s is preferred
  • Post-secondary Degree or diploma in Engineering or Business from an accredited Canadian institution is an asset
  • Strong organizational, facilitation and presentation skills
  • A “Hunter” sales mentality, driven to provide “exceptional customer service support” and experience in developing new customers in a highly competitive business environment
  • Strong electrical technical background and Microsoft Office computer skills is required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to successfully motivate and develop a team to assist divisions in achieving goals
  • Reliable team player with a professional and positive approach
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • A collaborative team player with a professional and positive approach and a notable willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
